It’s July already, my favorite month of the summer and our countries 250th birthday! I hope you all have plans to celebrate and enjoy this wonderful time of the year. Personally, my family goes hard on the 4th of July and I have always been deeply patriotic. I love our flag, anyone who has ever been to my cottage can attest to that! I love the Pledge of Allegiance, the national anthem, all of it. We even have a bald eagle that visits our lake!

However, my one true King is Jesus and my one true home is heaven.  Romans has been such a beautiful and challenging reminder of that. Many of you know I’ve been taking a class and I’ve had to prepare and deliver messages for feedback, my last message is scheduled for July 12 and it’s on Romans 5: 12-21. Because of this I have been diving deep into that text and looking straight at the predicament of all mankind in regard to sin. And as I think Paul intended, looking at the hopelessness of being made a sinner by the sin of one man, Adam; I can’t help but be overwhelmed by the one act of grace carried out by Jesus on the cross. I am stunned once again at the reality of my righteous standing before a holy God because of what Jesus did for me! And there’s more to come as we enter First and Second Corinthians.

I know this is a really busy time of the year but I’m praying you find time for the word and that the beauty of your salvation and of your Savior moves your heart to worship Him with renewed joy.
